A shooting at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City has put the school on Lockdown and one person has been confirmed dead. Multiple Lake County police agencies are searching for the suspect with the help of a state helicopter. All students in the area are being advised to shelter in place.

Police say they are looking for a white man in black clothing wearing a beanie and has a cross and teardrop tattooed on his face. When asked for details about the victim, Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer said they are not immediately releasing details of the victim at this time.
The University of Utah issued a campus alert saying the suspect is believed to be driving a forest green pick-up truck with Colorado plates. Police are currently canvasing the area to find the suspect and all local transit has been halted including the TRAX red line light rail service and public transit buses.
