A shooting at Mass. Ave. and Huntington Ave. has left reports of several people injured and Boston Police Department has closed the scene.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans says what they know so far is that two vehicles were driving down Mass. Ave. and ramming each other. Several shots were fired from a dark SUV aimed at the other car, a white sedan. Two people have been taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

A local resident reported hearing 6-8 shots fired in rapid succession at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Huntington Ave.

Authorities are also asking people to avoid the area while the investigation continues but say there is no longer any threat.

Another citizen shared a photo from the scene showing Boston Police officers cordoning off the scene. Commissioner Evans believes the shooting to be gang-related and the suspects in the shooting are known gang members. It is unclear if any arrests have been made and the identities of the victims have not been made public.
