After the jury rendered a not guilty verdict in the case of an illegal alien who crossed the Mexican border into the US illegally five times and killed 32-year-old Kate Steinle, a massive uproar ensued with people calling for more stringent immigration laws, crackdowns on "sanctuary cities" and the creation a "Kate's Wall on the US/Mexico border named in her honor.
The facts of the case should not have led to a not guilty verdict across the board from the jury, the verdict has even brought federal attention to the case and now Jose Ines Garcia Zarate has been brought up on federal charges. The reality is he was a felon, in America illegally, using a stolen federal agent's firearm, threw the gun into the ocean and ran from the scene.

White nationalist Richard Spencer announced in a tweet he would be heading to Lafayette Square just north of the White House Sunday afternoon "to demand Trump build #KatesWall." The president has demanded funding for the wall but Congress has not yet agreed to provide more than the $20 million already allotted to the prototype.
Spencer is far from the only person to call for justice after being angered by the jury's decision to acquit Zarate of not just murder but of all charges including manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon. Among those angered are prominent artists, actors and California state representatives who say Zarate should in the very least be convicted of manslaughter. Steinle was shot by Zarate in 2015 after illegally entering the country and being deported five times prior to the murder.

California State Senator Jeff Stone condemned the verdict saying, "How you could come to that conclusion is a mockery of justice. I don’t know how else to put it. It should be a wake-up call to every American that our judicial system in certain parts of the country, such as here in San Francisco, is way off the charts to the left and have to be fixed."
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deputy Director Tom Homan says it's the city of San Francisco's fault Steinle died because they refused to hand over Zarate after his release from jail. Homan issued a statement saying, "San Francisco’s policy of refusing to honor ICE detainers is a blatant threat to public safety and undermines the rule of law. This tragedy could have been prevented if San Francisco had simply turned the alien over to ICE, as we requested, instead of releasing him back onto the streets."
