A family in DeKalb County, Ga. is dealing with much grief and horror. One son is dead, while another son is accused of behind his brother’s death.
The brothers are said to have figured in a heated argument that led to one brother fatally shooting his own brother. Police said the altercation turned violent on Wednesday night at an apartment on Holcomb Road in DeKalb County.
The police have identified the shooter as Dashonn Hayes, 18 and his victim, his own brother 17-year-old Corinthian Hayes. The authorities added that the brothers’ parents were not home at the time of the dispute.
A younger sister was at home at the time and called 911 for help.
A neighbor told the local media that he heard the shooting, and also comforted the shocked sister.
It is not yet clear if the victim died at the scene or at the hospital. There is no word yet if the older brother has been arrested for the fatal shooting of his own sibling. There’s no word yet as well if charges will be filed given the strange situation involving family members.
