Black Thugs Bragged of “Killing an Old White Lady”, Now Facing Murder Charges

Authorities in Milwaukee say that they've made a series of arrests, three Black thugs, in regard to an atrocious murder of a 53-year-old white female.

Police say that f 53-year-old Karen Simek was shot and killed outside of her workplace, at the Garden-Fresh Foods, shortly after she parked her car.

Originally, Lt. Eric Donaldson of the Milwaukee Police Department had believed that they were searching for a single shooter, in what had appeared to be a botched robbery.

Recently however, surveillance footage, although not clear, was able to show at least one gunman who tried to rob Simek, before pulling the trigger. That footage would help lead police in the right direction.

Simek had been employed at the Garden-Fresh Foods for years, and was like a family member to every employee who worked for the company.

When the shooting happened, multiple employees tried to bring her inside and keep her alive until paramedics could arrive to the scene, but they were unable to save her.

"This morning, we are devastated and heartbroken over the loss of a long-time member of our Garden-Fresh Foods Family," company Chairman Tom Hughes said in a statement. "Our sincerest condolences go out to the family. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers on this very difficult day and share their grief over this tragic and terrible incident."

For months there was no justice in this horrendous crime, and law enforcement were left without any potential leads to pursue outside of witnesses seeing a Black male thug present at the time of the murder, who took off running.

Simek’s husband of 25-years says to this day he's still in shock, and heartbroken.

"I still come home from work and I'm like I've got something to tell Karen today," said Kevin Sasse.

The shooting occurred in January, and now it seems police have finally made an arrest, after surveillance video has been released showing the gunman, that caused tips to flood in.

"I spent a lot of this time over this past year just wondering what's he's [the killer] going to do next. Somebody who had so little ability to control himself under these circumstances to shoot somebody when he has no need to," Sasse said of his wife's murderer. “How can these animals, these sick people, wake up and think ‘I'm going to kill someone today’ and ruin people's lives?”

Unfortunately for Sasse; he answered his own question and may not realize it. They <i>are animals</i>, who simply never could conform to a civilized society, and quite frankly <i>they don't belong here to begin with</i>.

You don't put a shark into a tank with koi fish, and then ask why the koi fish have been killed, do you?

Charges have now been filed formally against three people in connection to the homicide; including 26-year-old Carl Knight, 25-year-old David McLaurin, and 20-year-old Samantha Gustafson.

"It's certainly the end of a chapter," said Kevin Sasse, victim's husband.

A review of the videos shows a male subject "accosting the victim on the east side of 12th Street, on the sidewalk outside the door to her workplace."

The two are standing face-to-face for a brief moment and "then the victim falls to the ground."

The complaint indicates the video shows the male subject "sprinting southbound on 12th Street."

Police say that David McLaurin told them that his roommate, Carl Knight, was the one who pulled the trigger.

According to police McLaurin was charged on an unrelated crime, when he told them details of the homicide.

McLaurin said, "Knight was getting money by doing armed robberies in January of 2017."

Back in early February, "Knight stated to McLaurin that he had shot and killed an 'older white lady on National.'"

Knight also told McLaurin the woman had a purse, and that he had wanted it. When he went to take the purse, "something happened to scare Knight, so he shot the lady."

McLaurin stated to police that he had "disbelieved Knight at first, but then later learned about the homicide" of Karen Simek.

Prosecutors say McLaurin and 20-year-old Samantha Gustafson helped to hide Knight at their apartment after the shooting, and now they're facing charges in doing so, according to<a href="https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/husband-of-woman-murdered-outside-store-has-no-words-for-accused-killer"> TMJ4</a>.

Police say that Knight was eventually arrested in Chicago, and now faces murder charges.

Knight is charged with first-degree murder, a felony, and possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon.

Gustafson and McLaurin are now facing charges for harboring and/or aiding a felon, as a party to a crime.

Milwaukee Alderman Jose Perez issued the following statement in light of the charges being filed in this case:

<blockquote>"I sincerely hope the charges offer some justice to the family of the victim, and I want to commend MPD detectives and officers who worked diligently to solve the case."</blockquote>

Some criminals are just brutal and vicious animals; who care not in which lives they devastate. In this case, a woman working for minimum wage most likely, was murdered for what would have been very little cash, by an animal too lazy to get a job and work for it.
