You too might have a shocked look on your face if you just got charged with capital murder after stabbing your wife dead for changing the channel.
Reality must be sinking in for Tony Thomas, 58, who said he came back inside his house on November 19 and saw the channel was changed from the football game he was watching. He then asked his wife, Elke Thomas, what the score of the game was he was watching.
Court documents say his wife began yelling at him and an argument ensued. He then went to the wall, grabbed a knife and he began stabbing her with it, according to an affidavit from Anthony Counts, a detective with the Lonoke County sheriff's office.
Tony Thomas told authorities he blacked out during the encounter. The affidavit said, "He claimed he'd blacked out and when he 'came to,' he was over her with a knife in his hands."
"He admitted to dragging her outside and calling the sheriff's office," Counts affidavit continued. Thomas was charged as a habitual offender because he has been convicted of felonies in the past.
He is being held at Lonoke County jail and was not given bail.
