Video - Texas Gang Targets Fast Food Joints

The Mesquite police are now convinced that a gang of gunmen that hit a Whataburger this week has been committing similar robberies on fast food joints all over the North Texas area.

In the surveillance video, the two can be seen walking into the Whataburger in the 2900 block of North Galloway Avenue, near Town East Boulevard.

As one of the criminals can be seen holding shocked customers at gunpoint, his colleague forces an employee with access to the safe stowed away in a nearby office to hand over all cash.

Police say the two are likely also guilty of robbing eight other fast food places, at Whataburgers in Carrollton, Euless, Irving, Lancaster, Mesquite, Terrell, and Forney, as well as two robberies at Jack in the Box locations.

All crimes usually took place during the early morning hours, anywhere between 3:30 and 6:30 a.m.

Witnesses confirmed that in each case they fled the scene in a four-door sedan which, according to the description given to police, is light blue, silver or gray. The brand is normally a Nissan Altima.

The robbers wear all black and covered their faces with bandanas.

Miss Augenia Webb, who was held at gunpoint by the criminals, said: "It's really traumatizing when you have a gun put to your head and you're told to do stuff and you find out just a couple of hours later that you've lost your job on top of it."
