Iowa Teacher Molested 13 Kids, Released on Bond, ARRESTED AGAIN on 146 Counts of Child Porn

We have an incredibly disturbing case of an Iowa Teacher who was charged with the molestation of thirteen children, posted a bail to be released into civilization, and now has been arrested again facing a whopping 146 charges.

36-year-old Curtis Van Dam was arrested initially on October 23rd of 2017 with inappropriate sexual contact with a student, which would later lead Detectives to uncover a total of 13 victims, <a href="http://kscj.com/2018/01/26/former-sioux-center-teacher-faces-federal-child-pornography-charges/">according to 94.9 KSCJ</a>.

He was employed at the Sioux Center Christian School, located at 630 1st Avenue Southeast, a private institution in Sioux Center, Iowa as a fifth-grade teacher.

School Administrators first suspended Van Dam after his arrest, only to later permanently fire the pedophile teacher.

The Sioux Center Police Department continued to investigate the numerous claims against Van Dam, which continued to pour in before determining that he had sexually assaulted children under the age of 13 on at least 24 individual occasions.

Some of the children claimed that Van Dam would simply coax them into undressing in front of him, while several others reported that Van Dam would force them to touch his genitals or assist him in masturbation.

Other children said Van Dam fondled them, performed oral sex on the children, as well as him asking them to urinate in front of him while he masturbated.

Each of the incidents took place at multiple locations including on school property, where Van Dam was employed for nearly nine years.

Detectives also believe that due to the length of time Van Dam was employed there could be numerous other child victims from the past.

In his initial arraignment, Van Dam was brought in front of the courts where Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle announced 101 felonies, and 39 misdemeanors against Van Dam, that would later be upgraded to 146 counts including 73 counts of child sexual abuse.

As if the numerous charges against Van Dam weren't already shocking enough, he posted bail in December of 2017 and was released from the Sioux County Jail, <a href="http://siouxcityjournal.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/sioux-center-teacher-in-federal-custody-on-sex-charges/article_1d5d57f2-56ad-5ec1-9270-72642853834e.html">according to the Sioux City Journal</a>.

<strong><span style="color:red;">The allegations have rocked the religious town of 7,500 that's home to 20 churches, where such an occurrence is unheard of. </span></strong>

"Emotions are high, from anger, bitterness to embarrassment to resentment," Sioux Center Police Chief Paul Adkins said in an interview Friday. "I really believe that we are a very strong community over here. And we'll get through this."

Friday morning the United States Marshals Service arrested Van Dam on two federal indictments including one federal count of sexual exploitation of a child and one federal count of possession of child pornography on top of the 146 counts he's already plead not guilty to.

<i>Josh Bowar of Sioux Center Christian School released the following statement after the original arrest of Van Dam:</i>

<blockquote>"We have been told from the beginning that additional charges for a former teacher at Sioux Center Christian would be coming. Today, Mr. Curt Van Dam, was charged with 101 felonies and 39 misdemeanors. We have been informed that he was arrested this afternoon."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Within hours of hearing a complaint, school officials removed Mr. Van Dam from the school and immediately contacted authorities. His employment was terminated on October 19th of 2017 and we have been in full cooperation with civil authorities since. This case is in the hands of our criminal justice system and we trust that justice will be served."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Though the number of charges does not necessarily reflect the number of students, we are grieved again as we hear the extent of the charges. We've wept, now it's time to weep again. We've prayed, now we need to continue praying. We've brought our anger and fears to the Lord, and now we need to lay those feelings again at His feet."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"We need to remember that though the charges are many, it also means that many students are no longer carrying secrets. Kids, we want you to know that we consider you brave for telling your parents, the police, and the interviewers what happened to you. We praise God that your testimony has brought to light a dark secret that none of us adults knew was there. You have played an important role in keeping others safe."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Please know that thousands are lifting you before the throne of your Father in heaven. Trust Him to restore you completely."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Our focus at Sioux Center Christian continues to be the Christ-centered education of our students, while also providing daily support and guidance to students as needed through their teachers and professional counselors. "</blockquote>

<blockquote>"If this news especially hurts because you have suffered or are suffering abuse, we encourage you to bring it out of the realm of secrecy, so that it loses its powerful grip on you. We encourage you to talk to a professional Christian counselor."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"We know hearing these new charges is incredibly painful and heartbreaking, but we need to be reminded again that we are walking this road of pain so that another child need not. In the midst of this hurt, we proclaim hope. Hope in our sovereign God, who is so very trustworthy and true in His promises of life and healing. He gave His only Son, who lived as one of us, died on the cross, rose again, and reigns on high so that we could enjoy eternal life in Christ's unfolding Kingdom."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"As a community of people bound together by our love and care for kids, let us persevere through the trials that lay before us. This will be an enduring process but we rest in our Living Hope, Jesus Christ. Let's continue to pray and encourage one another. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support shown by our entire community and beyond …you have done more for us than words can define. Be assured that God is good and He is at work mightily in this school. Thank you for your continued prayers and support."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"We have all experienced comfort and assurance through Scripture and in songs of faith during this trying time. Here is one Bible verse that has been especially encouraging to us:"</blockquote>

<blockquote>"In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:6-9"</blockquote>

While the school is undoubtedly shocked, the evidence suggests that there as a failure on the part of the Administration to recognize so many cases of child sexual assault was occurring behind their doors.

US Marshals say that Van Dam is being held at the Woodbury County Jail, with a hold by the Marshals Service so that this time he cannot be released to endanger more children.

There's no rehabilitation for pedophiles and they shouldn't be allowed to post a bond until after their trial, due to the dangers they pose to society and the general public.

Sioux Center Police Detectives are asking that any potential victims of Van Dam or anyone who may have any information to assist in the prosecution of this deranged pedophile to contact their offices at 712-722-0761 at any hour of the day.

How in the hell a Judge would allow a pedophile facing 146 counts of child sexual assault and child pornography to post a bond is beyond me, and that Judge most certainly needs to be removed from the bench.

This case is only further evidence that America needs to enforce the death penalty for pedophiles because there is no other worthy form of justice.
