Just as Chancellor Angela Merkel is trying to negotiate a new government with the Socialist SPD and the sticking point remains the handling of refugees, the German press is focusing on one more murder of a German teen by an Afghan refugee.
This time it happened in the small town of Kandel, where a young Afghan refugee (known as Abdul D.) murdered his teenage German girlfriend (known as Mia V.) after a bad break-up.

The death in Kandel, in southwestern Germany, is traumatizing the sleepy little town of barely 10,000 Germans where nothing ever happens. Not in the least because this is what some scaremongers said would happen when the province accepted to open an asylum center in the area.

Authorities state that the girl, 15 years old, was stabbed following an apparently chance meeting with the boy at a drugstore. He used a kitchen knife with a 20-centimeter blade.
This of course is just adding more fuel to the fire as the German public has grown more and more intolerant as from the moment Angela Merkel opened the country’s borders to more than one million migrants two years ago. The Berlin Christmas market attack and the New Year’s molestation and rapes in Cologne are just two examples of what has happened since.
Miss Jana Weigel, a 24-year-old dental assistant, who was laying flowers at the site where Mia was stabbed, said: “I am scared. It makes you think, how many others will betray our hospitality.”
