Alabama police have arrested a man responsible for creating a child porn video that was widely circulated on Facebook and other social media.
The Goldwater <a href="https://thegoldwater.com/news/17447-Police-Warn-Sharing-Child-Pornography-Video-Circulating-on-Facebook-Will-Result-in-Charges">reported on the disturbing video</a> when it first began making rounds and the victim and perpetrator had not been identified. The man in the video has now been identified as 44-year-old Germaine Moore after he turned himself into Millbrook Police around 2:30 am Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for the state Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Moore is facing 11 counts related to criminal sexual misconduct involving a person under 13 and more charges are expected to follow.
As for the victim in the child porn video, the spokeswoman confirmed they have been located and are safe. Moore is also wanted for sexually assaulting three girls in Detroit.
The child porn video was circulated on Facebook and other social media as far as Colorado and France. The video shows a young girl performing oral sex on Moore.
According to State Bureau of Investigation Lt. Brooke Walker, someone recognized the girl in the video and authorities were able to identify and locate her. The victim gave a statement along with other evidence that led them to identify Moore.
Moore's photo was released to news outlets and a media blitz Monday night apparently led to his surrender. Walker said, "We're definitely glad he's in custody."
She also confirmed the victim is physically unharmed but would not say that she is okay. "She's got a long road ahead of her. This poor little girl is going to be victimized by this the rest of her life."
As for those who shared the child porn video, Montgomery Police have charged 42-year-old Jerrell Washington with distributing the video and warn anyone else who shares the video will be charged as well.
