Her face was so severely injured by the strap she was placed in a medically induced coma at Banner UMC. The strap was intentionally strung across the road near East Silver Beech Drive and South Evergreen Avenue.
It was tied between a mailbox and a tree in the median of the road just high enough to strike the passing motorcycle passenger. "It hit her in the mouth. It almost took her off the bike and just ripped her apart," her husband Ron Bondy said.
Ron Bondy filed a report with the Tucson Police Department and theorized the strap was placed as a prank. The strap struck Linda Bondy causing serious bodily harm and leaving her fighting for her life.
Marie Bondy is Ron and Linda's daughter and she had this to say about the perpetrators, "Whoever they are, they're inhumane absolute monsters. I can't imagine who would do something like that."
"I really hope that whoever is responsible is brought to very swift and strict justice because we are very, very distraught."
Ron Bondy described Linda saying, "She's funny and she's loving. Her heart is as big as this hospital. Pray for her. She's a beautiful woman and she's going to be beautiful again."
