Utah - Mitt Romney Announces Senate Run

Former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney announced his desire to fill the vacated Senate seat of retiring Utah Senator Orrin Hatch today.

Mitt Romney’s announcement was long-anticipated when he tweeted that: “I am running for United States Senate to serve the people of Utah and bring Utah's values to Washington.”

The focus of the political arena has in fact been wondering whether he would return to the political arena as a friend or rather as a foe to US President Donald Trump.

“And on Utah’s capitol hill, people treat one another with respect.”

He furthermore presented the Beehive State as a model for emulation, citing its balanced budget, export-based economy, and it’s openness to immigration.

His allies were quick to show their eagerness to stand by him during this latest campaign. Mr Derek Miller, CEO of Utah’s World Trade Center: “I think it will be very much a Utah-centric campaign.”

“Romney wants the country to look at Utah as an example. Why are things going so well here? What lessons are there to learn, and how do you take them back to the nation’s capital?”
