Video - Australian Town Gets Hit By Apocalyptic Dust Storm

An Australian town in south-west Queensland got hit by a never-before seen storm that covered the outback community completely in orange dust.

The imagery captured from a plane us truly stunning and we invite you to watch the videos.

The storm swept through Charleville knocking down trees and causing minor damage in its path.

Many of the locals posted pictures and videos on social media.

Mr Harry Clark, who works for Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, said: "We do see a fair few dust events through the western parts of Queensland because it is such a dry and hot place, but it's definitely one of the more impressive events of the last few years."

Local resident Ms Paige Donald said: "We heard thunder, so we went outside…and we turned around and there was this big red dust storm coming along."

"Our eyes are covered in dust."

Ms Sonja Street said on Facebook: "I didn't close the bedroom window before I went to work this morning! Nothing that the washing machine won't fix."
