Conspiracy theories had abounded this week after one of the survivors of the Valentine’s day school shooting in Florida, Mr David Hogg, immediately rose to ‘internet fame’ and has now been forced to deny claims he is, in fact, an actor with an anti-gun agenda.
(Given that this is becoming a highly controversial issue, do note we are not taking any position in this story, merely pointing out the facts).

Speaking on (of all news networks to do so) CNN, student David Hogg said he was a witness and no actor. He sat together with his father, who works for the FBI.
When asked about the claims by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Mr Hogg said: I'm not a crisis actor."
"I'm someone who had to witness this and live through this and I continue to be having to do that."
"I'm not acting on anybody's behalf."

Earlier, Republican Senator Marco Rubio from the State of Florida had said that anyone claiming that some of the students on TV were actors is “is the work of a disgusting group of idiots with no sense of decency.”

Furthermore, an aide to a Republican state representative who had repeated the unsubstantiated claims was fired earlier this week for similar comments.
