The US Drug Enforcement Agency was able to report the extradition by Colombian authorities of Mr Prado Álava, a well-known drug kingpin in South America, to their services.
According to statistics, Mr Prado Álava (a drug lord with operations across the Americas) stands accused of smuggling more than 250 tonnes of cocaine over the past decade into the US.

Mr Álava was known in Colombia by his nickname “Ecuador's Pablo Escobar”, named after the infamous Medellín Cartel leader killed in 1993 (who became known to worldwide audiences through many Hollywood movies and a Netflix series).

If rumours are to be believed, Mr Álava ordered the murders of numerous judges, prosecutors and police officers in Ecuador.

The Colombian prosecutors said: "Washington Prado Álava is considered one of the biggest capos (bosses, red.) in recent years and became a top target for the United States."
The report stated that he was taken from a Colombian prison where he was being held in the capital, Bogotá, and put on a plane to face justice in the US.

An all tho he is directly responsible for 10's of 1000's of deaths in the US and Mexico.
The most he can get is a life in a US Federal Prison due the Mexican - US prisoner exchange agreement.
