Kiwi PM Adern In ‘Creepy’ 60 Minutes Interview

Concern has been raised in New Zealand (and Australia) over the cringe-worthy (some even say creepy) interview the Kiwi’s highly popular Prime Minister Ms. Jacinda Adern had to endure on current affairs show 60 Minutes.

The veteran reporter of the show, Mr Charles Wooley claimed that he was "smitten" about New Zealand’s female Prime Minister and asked her, as she is pregnant, when her baby was conceived and then continued to invite the public to count back so we can pinpoint the moment ‘when the baby was conceived’.

He also added that: "I've met a lot of prime ministers in my time, but none so young, not too many so smart, and never one so attractive."

Given the widespread attention it got on social media for it’s ‘cringeworthyness to watch’, Ms. Adern told reporters, hoping that the attention would go away, that: "it's fair to say that I couldn't recall there being anything from the interview that particularly stood out to me."

The 60 Minutes Jacinda Adern puff piece is just ick. Commentators on social media were quick to point out that there probably isn’t a single male European or Northern American politician that would ever get the following question: “There is one really important political question I want to ask you …. what exactly is the baby’s due date?”

Ms. Adern was diplomatic enough not to say anything about it and to us, Mr. Wooley seems like a nice chap.

However, could someone inform him this is 2018?

> New Zealand’s first female Prime Minister

Incorrect. She is the third, after Jenny Shipley and Helen Clark.

Probably because men can't get pregnant. And considering it affects her job (she will be taking a little time off after her child's birth), this question feels perfectly reasonable, considering its effect on the leader of country.

To 19402. Thank you, correcting that first item now.

I do not 100% share your view as to the second point but must state I can understand your reasoning. Best regards, Steve Dellar.
