Over the weekend, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf posted on Twitter that she had ‘learned from multiple sources that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is preparing to conduct an operation in the Bay Area, including Oakland, starting as soon as within the next 24 hours’.
Ms Schaaf, who claims she is part of ‘the resistance’ against President Donald Trump’s policies in matters of immigration was met with heavy criticism for her tweet in the past few days but yesterday stood by her policies, saying: “I do not regret sharing this information. It is Oakland’s legal right to be a sanctuary city and we have not broken any laws. We believe our community is safer when families stay together.”

One of the people criticizing her for her action was Ice deputy director Mr Thomas Homan who claimed that some 864 immigrants with criminal records "remain at large in the community and I have to believe that some of them were able to elude us thanks to the mayor's irresponsible decision."
"The Oakland mayor's decision to publicise her suspicions about Ice operations further increased that risk for my officers and alerted criminal aliens - making clear that this reckless decision was based on her political agenda with the very federal laws that Ice is sworn to uphold."
The Department of Justice has started investigating whether Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf obstructed justice with her actions.
According to former federal prosecutor Mr Tony Brass they do have a case. Mr Brass claimed that Ms Schaaf is " on the threshold of obstruction of justice for doing what she did."

Wow!! Well its on the record, the next time an illegal commits a killing, rape, or human trafficking, the responsibility rests squarely on her shoulders.
On top of a 800+ counts of obstructing a federal officer she should also pay the costs involved for the operation via a cut to any federal dollars to commiefornia or from her "slush" fund.
Shes a damn criminal.
