Breaking news coming outside of the Park Slope neighborhood near Brooklyn, New York, where a tragic vehicle attack plowed into a group of pedestrians leaving two children dead, and three other adults injured on Monday afternoon.

The tragic incident has yet to be confirmed as to whether it was an act of intentional terrorism, but regardless of the motives, the New York Police Department has announced that a one-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene of the attack.

Initial tweets had suggested that the deceased children were the ages of two and four, although local media have reported the children as being the ages of one and two.
The four-year-old girl's mother was also injured in the attack, and was pregnant, since having been transported NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital to be treated for her injuries, although there's no doubt the loss of her daughter is a pain that no medical facility will be able to heal.
The vehicle which is responsible for the attack, a white Volvo, is reported to have crashed into the crowd and the young boy who was still in a stroller and dragged under the vehicle after the attack.
The crowd was positioned near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Ninth Street in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn when the crash occurred just after 12:45 PM.

Aerial footage from local media helicopters shows the aftermath of the attack, with eyewitnesses stating that the Volvo sped through the intersection hitting the pregnant woman and the two children as the car accelerated. The car dragged the stroller halfway down the block before coming to a stop, in a grim and horrific scene of death and destruction.
There is no word yet on who may have been driving the vehicle outside of it being reported as a 44-year-old woman, but the NYPD has confirmed the suspect is in custody, and she could face numerous murder and attempted murder charges, dependent upon the outcome of the investigation.
"There's a full investigation underway," Mayor Bill de Blasio said at an unrelated news conference on Monday. "This loss of life is tragic and painful for all of us, especially parents."
One eyewitness, 60-year-old June Clark Smith said she saw the pregnant mother on the ground bleeding and screaming for her lost child, in an emotional display of horror.
"She got up on one knee," Clark-Smith said. "I said, 'please, the ambulance is here, they're taking care of the baby.' I was just so scared. I was just praying."
Absolutely disturbing, and we're offering our prayers for the families of the innocent children who lost their lives as a result of the potential terrorism which occurred.
