US President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on the New York Times today over their reporting that the White House is currently on the market for an addition to his legal team to help prepare for the upcoming Mueller investigation.
Mr Trump stated that: “The Failing New York Times purposely wrote a false story stating that I am unhappy with my legal team on the Russia case and am going to add another lawyer to help out. Wrong. I am VERY happy with my lawyers, John Dowd, Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow. They are doing a great job and have shown conclusively that there was no Collusion with Russia, just excuse for losing. The only Collusion was that done by the DNC, the Democrats and Crooked Hillary. The writer of the story, Maggie Haberman, a Hillary flunky, knows nothing about me and is not given access.

According to the New York Times article, Mr Trump would like to add Mr Emmet T. Flood to his current legal team. Mr Flood has previously worked for the White House counsel’s office under George W. Bush and represented Vice President Dick Cheney.

Furthermore, according to the New York Times article, Mr. Trump’s legal team have reached out to several prominent lawyers in the Washington and New York area who have all expressed no interest in joining his legal team (this would indeed be surprising as we had always assumed that lawyers work on a fee-basis and not a preferred person basis, and thus will work for who-ever pays them).
The author of the article, Ms Maggie Haberman, recently appeared on Mr Seth Meyer’s late night show in which she discussed US President Trump.

It is indeed clear she is not Mr Trump’s biggest fan.
