Aliens Inspired Kim Wilde Comeback

80s pop star Kim Wilde has UFOs to “thank” for her musical comeback. Her newest album and just-launched Here Come the Aliens, her first album of original songs since 1995 was, according to the celebrity herself, “inspired” by her enchanting encounter with the extraterrestrial in 2009.

Wilde couldn’t help gushing like a child or giddy teenager when recalling such an odd experience. She said: “It was a mind-blowing experience. I still get really excited talking about it.”

The singer said the timing of the encounter was also interesting, with it happening the day after pop superstar Michael Jackson died, and just shortly after her family experienced a medical emergency of their own.

Wilde remembered: “I had actually spent the whole evening at A&E with our son. Swine flu was rife at that time and he’d developed a very high temperature.” Thankfully, her son’s fever kinda subsided and everyone went home while Wilde preferred some quiet time then at the garden with a glass of wine. That’s when it all happened.”

Wilde recalled: “Then I looked up in the sky and saw this huge bright light behind a cloud. Brighter than the moon, but similar to the light from the moon.” She then called on her husband to also take a look. They went down the grass and looked for the source of what she saw. Then things became even stranger.

The singer said: “All of a sudden it moved, very quickly, from about 11:00 to 1:00. Then it just did that, back and forth, for several minutes.Whenever it moved, something shifted in the air-but it was silent. Absolutely silent.”

The UFO eventually left but Wilde said she has been watching the sky since then, and that there’s never a day she does not think about extraterrestrial stuff.

She said she wasn’t nervous about telling people what she saw, even if some were skeptical and humored her that maybe it was just the effect of “the thing” happening on a Friday night and while she was having wine. But the testament of others that they also saw what she did kind of validated her thoughts and feelings about the encounter.

On her album, Wilde describes the aliens as benign, singing: “Maybe they’ll save us from the apocalypse.” Yet she concedes that the extraterrestrial beings might be angry with humans and what we’re disappointingly doing with the world.

Wilde has fully embraced her album’s theme, being a self-confessed sci-fi fan herself- from the sleeve’s terrific B-movie-like artwork to the stage show for her upcoming tour. She’s even looking forward to donning “fantastic capes and cloaks” for her upcoming performances, saying her look and numbers would be a combination of sci-fi to glam rock, and definitely sexy. She said they will surely put smiles on people’s faces.

She’s also not shy to say she’s ready for a swan song, in any event. Wilde shared: “I want to surprise myself. Why not? I’m going to be 60 soon and before you know it, I’ll be dancing off this beautiful earth. I may as well go out all guns blazing.”

Who knows her UFO “friends” may yet escort her to her exit or take her with them to their “world” so she can introduce her music and sing forever.
