Former California governor and legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger had a brush with death today that had fans worried about him. The Terminator star underwent emergency open heart surgery Thursday but following the procedure in Los Angeles, Schwarzenegger confirmed he is okay saying, "I'm back."
The remark was a homage to his well-known line "I'll be back" from the Terminator films. The 70-year-old star is on the road to recovery and in stable condition following the serious procedure. A spokesman for the star named Daniel Ketchel said Schwarzenegger "is awake and his first words were actually 'I'm back".

Ketchell confirmed the cause of the surgery was a need to replace a pulmonic valve that had outlasted its life expectancy. Schwarzenegger opted for a less invasive catheter valve replacement. The aging but still very much physically fit actor is slated to return to roles as a robot in Terminator and as Conan the Barbarian sometime in the next couple years.

In case you're wondering, the former Austrian-born body builder's surgery was not caused by steroid use but was due to a condition that was congenital. He underwent a similar heart surgery in 1997 to replace the original valve.
