Arizona - Convicted Mexican Sex Offender Arrested Crossing Border

A child sex predator was caught trying to illegally cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. by Border Patrol agents in Tuscon, Arizona. Border Patrol indicated they caught the pedophile Wednesday 75 miles west of Nogales near the isolated border crossing of Sasabe.

31-year-old Moises Bautista-Ortiz was previously convicted of child molestation in Maricopa County Superior Court in January 2013. Bautista-Ortiz was sentenced to probation for a term of life for the crime. The Border Patrol agency routinely conducts record checks in order to identify people with criminal histories.

The agency also caught another three men from Mexico who were illegally in Vermont, one had been previously deported. The men were caught in a routine traffic stop after their vehicle was seen swerving and driving erratically. The Border Patrol agents then turned the illegals over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations.

The president said Wednesday, "The lawlessness that continues at our southern border is fundamentally incompatible with the safety, security, and sovereignty of the American people."
