Amber Heard Donates Money from Johnny Depp Divorce Settlement to Hospital

Former couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reached a $7 million divorce settlement in 2016. Then the Aquaman actress issued a promise to donate part of what she’ll get from the divorce to charity.

Heard and Depp may not have kept their wedding vows but at least it looks like the actress is fulfilling her promise to donate money from the divorce settlement. And she’s being a whole lot generous about it! Heard made it to the list of “Honor Roll of Donors” for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), based from CHLA’s Imagine 2017 Annual Report posted on its website.

The report says the actress donated between $1 million to about $5 million between July 2016 to June 2017.

The hospital also thanked its generous donors, including Heard. It says in the report: “We are honored to acknowledge our extraordinary donors for their generosity during fiscal year 2017. On behalf of all the children and families whose lives you have impacted, and everyone at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, we offer our sincere thanks.”

The former couple ensured that their separation will not be mired in controversies and intrigues. They released a joint statement after reaching their divorce settlement in August 2016.

The statement then read: “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.”

Even from the said statement, Heard’s intention to donate part of her divorce settlement was already indicated. It said: “Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity. There will be no further public statements about this matter.”

Not everyone is impressed with the actress, however. There are still nasty comments on social media- some could be coming from die-hard Johnny Depp fans, or from those who see her as a pretentious hypocrite.
