Another day, another embarrassment for the NFL. This time it was for Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver Mr Trevor Davis who was arrested for making “criminal threats” about explosives while being checked by airport security at Los Angeles international airport.

24-year-old Mr Davis was together with an unnamed female companion on Sunday, checking in with Hawaiian airlines when he decided to make a joke about a bomb on a plane, and was promptly arrested.

Los Angeles Airport Police spokesman Mr Rob Pedregon: "Trevor Davis checked in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter and was asked the usual questions about whether he was carrying any aerosol cans, knives, weapons or explosives."

The Green Bay Packers released a statement: "We are in the process of gathering more information and will refrain from making any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter."

It's sad that we live in times where those kinds of jokes can't just be brushed off because of the very real risk factors at play.
