A disturbing story to report coming out of Michigan, where police say that a registered sex offender who was previously convicted of sex crimes was arrested after Wal-Mart employees reported that the pedophile not only used floor model computers to download and view child pornography but engaged in the illicit activities on numerous occasions.
Deputies say that 38-year-old Timothy Powers first came to the attention of Wal-Mart employees when they noticed that he had entered the building on repeated days in order to access the floor model computers, so they inspect the devices after he left.
At that time they realized the browser and download history both contained numerous child pornography websites, which resulted in employees of the Wal-Mart contacting the Isabella County Sheriff's Office.
After a forensic investigation of the computers by the Sheriff's crime lab, it was determined that Powers would spend anywhere from fifteen minutes to three hours straight on the computers engaging in the illicit viewing of sexually explicit materials involving prepubescent children.
One of the specific searches performed by Powers used the keywords “age 12 girls naked,” according to court documents.
"The photos showed the young girls' breasts and their vaginas," wrote the responding officer in police records. "The naked girls were definitely under 16."
Sheriff's Deputies were able to identity Powers based upon his 2011 conviction of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and a 2012 conviction for failing to register as a sex offender, both crimes having occurred in Battle Creek, Michigan.
After sending authorities to the residence of Powers he was taken into custody on one felony count of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of possession of child pornography, and was transported to the Isabella County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $50,000 bond which stipulates that he is not allowed internet access if he were to make such a bond.
The incidents happened at the Mt. Pleasant Wal-Mart Supercenter located on 4730 Encore Drive at least ten times this spring, according to Local 9 & 10 News website in Isabella County.
Timothy Powers is now scheduled in an Isabella County courtroom on April 26 at 9:30 AM in front of Judge Eric Janes, where he faces a total of six years imprisonment if convicted.

You've done it again !! Blatant grammatical errors in your 'journalism' make The Goldwater seem like the stories are compiled by illiterate 4th graders. You wrote '…so they inspect the devices after he left.", but you meant to write INSPECTED*
'…so they INSPECTED the devices after he left.". I'm not sure if the staff writers at The Goldwater ever graduated high school, but most elementary school children know the difference between present tense and past tense…
