UK- “Gay Chocolates”, Anyone? Kitkat Comes Out in Pink Bar!

Pink chocolates, anyone?

Nestle is releasing a pink Kit Kat bar in the UK, and the company insists the eye-candy color or ruby hue isn’t from dye but that it’s completely natural.

The pink chocolate bar took the company a decade to make. The chocolate bar is made from ruby cocoa beans that have a berry-like fruity flavor.

There were some controversies surrounding the making of the pink chocolate bar, however, in the recent past. Barry Callebaut kept the production methods used to create ruby chocolate a secret. Some speculated that the cacao processor might have utilized unfermented cocoa, as raw cocoa beans are naturally slightly pink in color.

Chocoholics in the UK will be the first in Europe to taste the pink chocolate bar. The new chocolate bar is generating excitement among social media users in the UK, with the millennials said to be the ones most anticipating the pink chocolates.

Some, however, are also making fun of it and making references to queer, uhm, taste.

Chocolate lovers with a liking for anything pink in the U.S. will soon enjoy the bar as well as the company says they’re bringing it to American market. No exact dates as to when, however, were given.
