A sudden bout of hail accompanied a storm in North Texas as a dryline moved across the state. The National Weather Service issued several severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado watch until 10 p.m. for most of North Texas Friday but was canceled around 7:45 p.m. Affected areas include Dallas, Denton, Parker, Tarrant, Wise, and Hood counties.

Residents shared videos of the hail storm which showed massive torrents of ping-pong sized chunks of ice. The spring storms in Texas are capable of generating 65 mph winds and when you add hail to those winds the storms become highly dangerous. Marble to quarter-size hail was also reported in areas around Eagle Mountain Lake, Crowley and Mansfield.
Patricia Sanchez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, gave some good news to some Texas residents saying, "The Tarrant County area should be free of any hazardous weather conditions throughout the weekend. Initially, we thought the cap was going to be through here by early afternoon and the storms would be off to the east. That hasn't happened, and with our latest sounding, it looks like the cap is weakening, which can allow strong to severe thunderstorms to develop quickly."
