Greece - Communists Try To Topple Truman Statue In Violent Athens Clashes (Video)

Although the European political reception to the US, UK and French strikes on Syria of this weekend was mostly positive, there were also some protests to note. Unlike in Washington, where those who disagreed with the White House administration’s actions mostly held placards in front of Mr Trump’s working residence, in Europe there were some violent clashes between angry protesters and police over the strikes on Syria.

One of the worst incidents took place in Greece (which has a leftwing government) where remnants of the Greek communist party had called upon students at the Athens university to gather and try to topple the statue of former US President Harry Truman, who was denounced by the protesters as a supporter of ‘imperialism’.

As you can see, the Greek police reacted harshly to the incident and used pepper-spray and batons to try and get the protesters to leave the park.

Yorgos Perros, a member of the communist-affiliated union PAME: “What we did today is a symbolic move against the U.S. and the war in Syria.”

The Liberals, Progressives, Communists and Socialists love to erase and rewrite History ? They are in the process here in the USA doing the same thing with Southern Civil War statues.

BTW: Look up and read the "Corwin Amendment" aka the "Ghost Amendment". Then ask yourself why was the USA Civil War started again?
