US Billionaire Banking Heir Dies in Mexican Rehab At Age 54

Matthew Mellon, the 54-year old banking heir and rumored crypto-billionaire died while attending a rehabilitation center in Mexico to deal with an admitted opioid dependency.

The news comes after Mr Mellon dealt with years of drug addiction. Mr Mellon, who rose to fame though his marriage with Tamara Ecclestone, was part of the Mellon and Drexel families of Bank of New York Mellon

The family released a statement: “Billionaire Matthew Mellon died suddenly in Cancun, Mexico, where he was attending a drug rehabilitation facility.”

An anonymous friend told the British tabloid press: “He returned to the clinic for ‘maintenance’ and took his private jet there a few days ago. He had a heart attack after taking Ayahuasca.”

For a while, Mr Mellon worked as the chairman of the finance committee of the Republican Party in New York.
