Law enforcement in the Central Texas region says they've stopped a vile pedophile from continuing his work with children after he was found to be in possession of a large stash of child pornography in his office.
According to the Texas Attorney General Ken. Paxton, whose office was tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, they were told that child pornography was being distributed and downloaded from the office of a 55-year-old pediatric pulmonary physician, John Middlemiss Palmer, in Temple, Texas.

After obtaining a search warrant for the offices of Palmer at 1901 SW H K Dodgen Loop in Temple, police would locate a locked drawer in the top left of Palmer’s desk.
After summoning a locksmith to gain entry into the drawer, police found both a laptop and three external hard drives. A forensic review of one of the drives discovered “numerous images depicting images of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” according to CBS Local affiliate KWTX.
Later serving a warrant at Palmer’s home, police would once again seize numerous electronics devices, that would be sent to the Digital Forensics Unit of the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation United (CEU).
During interrogations, Palmer denied any involvement or knowledge of having obtained child pornography, although an online storage account would later be found as well as physical child pornography in a locked drawer.
If convicted, John Middlemiss Palmer faces up to twenty years in a federal penitentiary.
Palmer was also employed at Baylor Scott and White and McLane's Children's Hospital in Temple, who have since released a statement about their physician's arrest.

”We are shocked and deeply troubled by the charges against Dr. Palmer. We first learned of the investigation this week and acted swiftly – suspending the physician on the day we learned of the investigation and terminating him immediately after his arrest. Dr. Palmer was employed by Baylor Scott & White as a pediatric pulmonologist for less than a year. He was hired in May 2017, coming highly recommended and reviewed through our employee background screening and medical staff credentialing processes.”

”We are thoroughly cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation of Dr. Palmer. At this time, we have no indication that Baylor Scott & White patients are involved in this matter. As always, our patients’ well-being is our primary concern.”

With Palmer having worked around children as a pediatric doctor the majority of his life, authorities are deeply concerned that there may be child victims throughout Bell County, and authorities are asking that anyone with any information that could assist in their case to contact them via (800) 252-8014.
Palmer is currently being held in the custody of US Marshals at the Bell County Jail where he awaits trial.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said his office is committed to tracking down, arresting, and prosecuting anyone proven to have exploited or abused children, and urged parents to be vigilant and report any suspicious people to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

They need to make molesting a child an executable offence. Pedophiles aren't successfully rehabilitated…they just do lasting emotional damage to the victim.
