By now, the images and video of the hundreds of migrants travelling together in a "caravan" which have been prevented from entering the US and of which some have climbed the wall on the beach near San Ysidro have reached national and even European news headlines.
The US Border Patrol agents have now told the group of people (of whom many are travelling with little children) that the Mexico-US border crossing at this point was already full. The large group of migrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador is trying to ask for asylum in the US as they claim being persecuted in their home country.
CBP Commissioner Mr Kevin McAleenan stated: "we have reached capacity at the San Ysidro port of entry".

“Depending upon port circumstances at the time of arrival, those individuals may need to wait in Mexico as CBP officers work to process those already within our facilities,”
“As sufficient space and resources become available, CBP officers will be able to take additional individuals into the port for processing. CBP will communicate with Mexican authorities for operational awareness on this issue of capacity within CBP facilities as appropriate.”

The infamous ‘caravan’ set off for the US on 25 March. The group, organized by the NGO Pueblo Sin Fonteras (People Without Borders) was able to start their trip from southern Mexico, near the Guatemalan border, without being checked by Mexican authorities for weeks on end.

Border Patrol agents confirm that some immigrants have already tried crossing illegally.
CBP Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S. Scott said: “If anyone has encouraged you to illegally enter the United States, or make any false statements to U.S. government officials, they are giving you bad advice and they are placing you and your family at risk.”
“We are a very welcoming country but just like your own house, we expect everyone to enter through our front door and answer questions honestly. On a national level that front door is the Ports of Entry. If you enter the United States at any place other than a Port of Entry it is a crime.”

I agree.
If Congress would pass that new simple Immigration Rule requirment. It would quickly resolve these type of Illegal and staged Liberal Open Border protests.
What the DOJ needs to do is dig into and criminally charge those that sponsored this mass Illegal border crossing.
If they are fleeing their home country why didn't they ask for asylum in the next safest country?
