Virginia - Operation Blue Thunder Nets 27 with Child Porn Ring and Criminal Network

Virginia law enforcement agencies have announced a major victim for law-abiding citizens of their state - after 27 dangerous criminals - including some of which whom were pedophiles involved in a child pornography ring - and others who were trafficking narcotics - all of whole have now been exposed - as a result of “Operation Blue Thunder” - that has now led to 70 indictments.

With a whopping 70 indictments being announced last night, along with twenty arrests, what began as a tiny investigation by the Danville Police Department later spiralled into a widespread network of apprehending the region’s most dangerous and disturbing criminals. The community can rest at ease that these horrendous predators and threats to civilians are no longer on the street, although seven remain free and police need your help to find them.

The case began when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms assisted the Danville Police Department and surrounding law enforcement agencies with both intelligence gathering and surveillance technology that brought forth a widespread takedown of pedophiles, drug dealers, arms dealers, and numerous other threats, as reported by Local NBC Channel 10 WSLS.

After several months of deep cover investigations that began in the summer of 2017, Detectives with the Danville Police Department Special Investigations Division joined forces with Special Agents from the Roanoke ATF Field Office, who then took the lead in organizing a major task force that included the Virginia State Police, Roanoke US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Lynchburg FBI office, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s office, the Martinsville Police Department, the Roanoke City Police Department, the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office, and the Danville Commonwealth Attorney’s Office; all who combined forces to hunt down the threats of this organized criminal conspiracy.

From July of 2017 until the beginning of May of 2018, each of those law enforcement agencies worked cooperatively to gather intelligence and build a case before they presented conclusive evidence to a grand jury, who then decided that there was more than enough information for the 70 indictments issued against the men and women all believed connected to a criminal hub.

Lavale Desean Lovelace: Three counts of marijuana distribution.

Steven Michael Schilbe: Two counts of heroin distribution, and one count of fentanyl distribution

Phil Dennis Wilson: Three counts of marijuana distribution.

The 70 indictments were deemed by a Grand Jury to have sufficient evidence, and each of the referrals submitted by law enforcement returned indictments without hesitation.

This major breakthrough will ensure that the drug distribution network of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, K-2, and prescription opioids throughout the region have been slowed in some fashion, as well as increasing the potential for future arrests due to the intelligence obtained during the investigation.

If you have any additional information on any of the seven fugitives evading justice, then you're urged to contact the Danville Police Department at (434) 799-5111 and reference Operation Blue Thunder or link to this article.

There's also the potential for additional charges to be filed, according to police, once some of the evidence sent to the forensics lab including electronic devices seized during the raids are further examined.

The streets are safer thanks to these law enforcement agencies, and we no doubt thank each of them for their commitment to protecting and serving the law-abiding, taxpaying citizens of our great nation.

Thank you for your service and bravery.
