If long-time bitter rivals South Korea and North Korea can take the first step towards the once-elusive peace, indeed why can’t pop divas and former friends turned bitter enemies Katy Perry and Taylor Swift do it, too?
It appears that the long-running feud between two huge music superstars has officially ended as Perry sent Swift a symbolic real olive branch on Tuesday as a “peace offering.”
Swift posted a video of the package sent by Perry, which also included a letter that even featured Perry’s dog, Nugget. A Twitter user zoomed in to read and spell out for others what Perry wrote to Swift.

The note read: “Hello old friend- I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hard feelings between us. I really want to clean the air- I’m deeply sorry for…” Bad Blood is OVER. KATY APOLOGIZED TO TAYLOR. I’m dead.”
Swift expressed her appreciation for Perry’s peace gesture. She captioned her Instagram stories with “Thank You Katy” and a double heart emoji. She also wrote: “I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me.”

An olive branch, especially for nation-to-nation relations, is a traditional symbol of peace.
The two superstars’ fight started only as a dispute over back up dancers, but it has since escalated and dominated the personal and professional lives of the two world-famous singers for more than 4 years that they even threw shades at each other through their songs.
Swift’s 2014 single Bad Blood is widely believed to be directed at Perry. Perry, on the other hand, described her 2017 single, “Swish, Swish” as “a great anthem for people to use whenever somebody’s trying to hold you down or bully you.”
Perry, 33, appeared ready to reconcile with Swift, 28, last year when she apologized for past actions and even heaped praise on Swift for being a “fantastic singer.” Her gesture was met with cold silence from Swift, however.
This time Swift appears ready to bury the hatchet with her erstwhile friend. Perry’s peace initiative also follows her attention-grabbing appearance on Monday at the Met Gala in New York, where perhaps as preview of things to come, she dressed as an angel.
The apparent reconciliation between the high-profile performers has -not surprisingly- become an online sensation, with some making light of it, others genuinely happy for two of the country’s top singers.
