Poland – Chocolate Filled Truck Crashes On Highway, Spilling 12 Tons Of Cocoa (Video)

A tanker truck filled with liquid cocoa chocolate has caused quite a problem for Polish road workers after it crashed and turned the highway into "a huge chocolate bar."

According to the officials having to clear up the mess, dealing with liquid chocolate on a road is "worse than snow."

The tanker truck carried the 12,000 kilograms of liquid chocolate from Poland to Germany but never arrived.

Instead, it crashed through a traffic barrier and spilled its load all-over both sides of the highway near the western town of Slupca.

It was unclear why the truck, which belongs to a local Polish candy maker, crashed through the highway between the towns of Wrzesnia and Slupca.

Chief of the local firefighter brigade charged with the clean-up, Mr Bogdan Kowalski, said: "Once it hardens, chocolate's worse than snow. It will take several hours.”

As the liquid chocolate was indeed solidifying as it cooled due to contact with the underground, the firefighters needed ever harsher methods to clear the goo from the road. In the end they resorted to large amounts of hot water.
