Mexico – Authorities Admit 2 Missing European Cyclists Murdered After Brother Claimed Cover-Up

2 befriended European cyclists, Mr Holger Hagenbusch of Germany and Mr Krzysztof Chmielewski of Poland, had started traveling the world by bike and leaving a trail of their adventures on the internet. By half April Mr Hagenbusch had arrived in Mexico from where he would see the rest of South America. He then caught up with Mr Chmielewski and they travelled together.

On 20 April they were in the town of San Cristobal de las Casas from where they decided to ride to the ancient Mayan ruins at Palenque, about 200km away. After that their internet blogs went dead and their followers sent out messages to Mexican authorities. Local police said that they found Chmielewski’s body on 26 April, and Hagenbusch’s on 4 May.

Investigators said that the pair appeared to have lost control of their bicycles while on a winding downhill mountain road. Fellow cyclists in Europe reading their blogs questioned this version as they claimed both men were experienced riders who would never both fall off a road at the same time.

In the end, Mr Hagenbusch's brother Rainer flew to Mexico to identify him. Upon arrival, he wrote on his Facebook page that he could see during the identification process that both bodies had been mutilated. "The Polish cyclist was decapitated and had a foot missing."

Pressure from German and Polish embassies then led the local Mexican authorities to appoint a new prosecutor.

Today, that special prosecutor, Mr Luis Alberto Sanchez told journalists: "It may have been an assault, because our investigations up to now indicate this was an intentional homicide,".

According to Mr Sanchze, the motive for the murders appeared to have been robbery.

Mexico is the most dangerous country in the world which has not been deemed so. Heroes die young. Widows and orphans hide from bullets. Corruption has destroyed integrity of military members and politicians are useless. Never forget the Mexican Massacre of 1968. Then, ask yourself why 1st world nations allow this rogue country to supply our world with drugs which maim the mind, destroy the family, erase character and send young people into early graves. Fix Mexico.
