Australia – Man Gives PM Turnbull The Finger For Jumping The Queue In Pub

Even though beer sales are falling worldwide as millennials are more keen on spirits and shots, there are still places around the world where having a pint in a pub is somewhat of a ritual, with certain rules to be respected. Such was the case this week in Australia where Prime Minister Turnbull committed the ultimate sin in a pub by jumping the queue to order his drink.

One, clearly intoxicated, man from Brisbane was convinced the Australian Prime Minister had indeed done so and unleashed a torrent of abuse, and as the picture proves gave the PM ‘the finger’, at a politics-at-the-pub event in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs where Mr Turnbull wanted to ‘meet the public.

The 27-year-old red-haired Carina man apparently didn’t realise who he was flipping the bird to, he allegedly was infuriated by the long wait at the bar, caused by Mr Turnbull’s security detail.

A Queensland police spokesman confirmed the incident at the Carindale hotel: “Police will allege the man became abusive to a group at the bar due to the group being served before him.”

“He was immediately arrested and escorted from the hotel.”

Mr Turnbull acknowledged the event afterwards in a discussion with reporters: “A very, very warm reception in every respect, it was great to be there with Ross Vasta the local member of Parliament. We had a great visit. It was a very warm welcome, an open session and there were questions on a whole range of topics.”

When asked about the young man who flipped him ‘the finger’, Mr Turnbull stated: “There was one gentleman there who clearly had had, err, a few drinks too many.

“And I think he was, ahhh, he was assisted in making an early return home. Which is probably where he should have gone earlier in the evening, as I’m sure he’s worked out by this morning.”

Why was he arrested? You can't give the bird down under? They should have arrested the PM! No rights in australia.
