President Trump delivered a keynote address at Susan B. Anthony List's 11th annual Campaign for Life Gala Tuesday where he urged pro-life supporters to vote "for life." The president slammed Democrats and pushed for continued GOP control saying, "Democrats like to campaign as moderates at election time, but when they go to Washington, they always vote for the radical Nancy Pelosi agenda down the line."

The speech followed an initiative announced by the Trump administration last week which sought to bring back a rule banning federally funded family-planning clinics from advocating for abortion with patients. The president pushed to defund Planned Parenthood during his campaign and reiterated his opinion on doing so. "When I ran for office I pledged to stand with life, and that’s exactly what I’ve done," the president said at the Life Gala. "For the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a pro-life president, a pro-life vice president, a pro-life House of Representatives and 25 pro-life Republican state capitals."
"We know that every life has meaning and that every life is totally worth protecting," he added. "When we stand for life we stand for the true source of America’s greatness – it’s our people. Our people are great." The rule could ban abortion talk in what Planned Parenthood claimed was a "gag rule". Planned Parenthood's vice president Dawn Laguens stated, "The end result would make it impossible for women to come to Planned Parenthood, who are counting on us every day." The Trump administration said the organization could still receive Title X grants if it keeps family-planning money separate from abortion funds.

An administration official told Fox News, "This proposal does not necessarily defund Planned Parenthood, as long as they’re willing to disentangle taxpayer funds from abortion as a method of family planning." President Trump also said at the Life Gala, "We’re also seeking passage of the 20-week abortion bill which would end painful, late-term abortions nationwide. Democrats in the Senate are doing everything in their power to block it."

The president added, "On this issue, like so many issues, the Democratic party is far outside of the mainstream. We will be appealing to voters all across America who previously sent a Democrat to Washington only to discover they elected a proxy vote for Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi." The president of the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List Marjorie Dannenfelser said resurrecting the rule "will help tremendously" in the midterms.
"As long we have faith in our citizens, confidence in our values and trust in our God then we will never, ever fail," Trump added. "Our nation will thrive, our people will prosper and America will be greater than before. So this November, vote for family, vote for values, vote for country and vote for life."

Abortion is nothing short of taking a human life, especially in late-term abortions and if babies were incubated outside of the body where they could be seen then many people's opinions on abortion would change. I think the fact that abortion takes place inside the body and out of view helps to keep the reality of the operations out of the mind. I do not think abortions should be illegal, but indeed, they should only be allowed in extreme cases involving victims of rape and not something that is done because someone forgot to use protection and having a child would be inconvenient for them.
