UK - Hilarious! Russian Pranksters Call Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson (Video)

Mr Boris Johnson, the flamboyant British Foreign Secretary, has become the latest victim of two well-known Russian pranksters who managed to keep him on the phone for 18 minutes pretending to be Mr Nikol Pashinyan, the recently appointed prime minister of Armenia, the country that has seen somewhat of a revolution as of late and is now for the very first time escaping Russian control.

The Russian duo (who in the past already successfully pranked Nikki Haley and John McCain and once got Elton John on the phone pretending to be Vladimir Putin) tried to get Mr Johnson to give the UK’s current state of mind on Russian relations, which the latter gladly did.

Mr Alexei Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov, known by their prankster monikers Lexus and Vovan, asked Mr Johnson what he thought Russia would do about the situation in Armenia, to which the British foreign minister responded that he thought: “Russia seems to be unable to resist malign activity one way or another.”

Some of the best statements of Mr Johnson during the call: “If I have a message to Putin, it’s that we don’t want a cold war, but we do want to see an improvement in the way Russia behaves.”

“We will continue to tighten the squeeze on some of the oligarchs who surround Putin.”

Mr Johnson started to doubt the honesty of the caller when towards the end of the conversation one of the pranksters said that Putin had told him he was financially supporting the UK Labour party.

The Foreign Office said in a statement afterward: “The Foreign Secretary realized it was a hoax, and ended the call.”

“We checked it out and knew immediately it was a prank call. The use of chemical weapons in Salisbury and Syria and recent events in Armenia are serious matters. These childish actions show the lack of seriousness of the caller and those behind him.”
