Texas - Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Lupe Valdez Owes Back Taxes On 7 Properties

The Democratic plan to paint Ms. Lupe Valdez, the Texas candidate for governor who’s up against Republican Gregg Abbott as a simple-styled normal employee is out of the window after it appeared Ms. Valdez owes back taxes on no less than seven properties in the state for an amount of $12,000.

In total, Ms. Valdez owes no less than 12 properties all over Texas.

Valdez’s campaign spokesman, Mr. Juan Bautista Dominguez acknowledged the amount and said she would pay it back soon.

“Sheriff Valdez has made arrangements to pay off 2017 property taxes and plans to do so entirely in the coming months. The other year that Sheriff Valdez had overdue property taxes was 2015, and similar arrangements were made and fulfilled then.”

Mr Dominguez claimed that Ms Valdez was suffering from the burden of high property taxes in Texas just like all others, and stated that her Republican opponent, Governor Greg Abbott is responsible for this:

“As we’ve been saying all along, under Greg Abbott’s failed leadership, property taxes are unpredictable and burdensome for Texans everywhere, including Sheriff Lupe Valdez.”

Her campaign management explained that she plans to file amended financial statements to correct for some minor errors. Ms. Valdez loaned her election campaign, which she started in December 2017, some $20,000 of her own money.
