Buffalo Wild Wings Apologizes For ‘Racist’ Tweets

Just as McDonalds last year, this time round saw US restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings twitter account being hacked and sending out a string of various ‘racist’ tweets.

Over the course of Friday evening, the company’s verified Twitter account which has some 700,000 followers sent out various tweets during the hacked session. The company afterwards posted: "We're sorry, the awful posts… obviously did not come from us".

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Buffalo Wild Wings probably got hacked. But that’s not the story here. The real story is that the racist tweets went massively viral before they got deleted. This showcases the same type of crude trolling power Trump leverages when he makes outrageous statements for his own gain. <a href="https://t.co/Lq5qypzUK6">pic.twitter.com/Lq5qypzUK6</a></p>&mdash; Eugene Gu, MD (@eugenegu) <a href="https://twitter.com/eugenegu/status/1002709428359946240?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 2, 2018</a></blockquote>

The many tweets the company sent during the interval including one that claimed to give out the “secret recipe” for the company’s famous wings which, if the hacked account is to be believed, is apparently “Tommy’s cum.”

In one of the funnier moments, Buffalo Wild Wings accused another fast food chain, Wendy’s, of being a restaurant that ‘touches kids’, as Wendy’s is a Twitter feed known for roasting people, many on social media were waiting to see what would be the response, but nothing was sent.

A spokesperson for the restaurant chain stated afterwards: “Buffalo Wild Wings’ Twitter account was hacked. We’re sorry that our fans had to see those awful posts, which obviously did not come from us. We are in touch with our Twitter representatives and will pursue the appropriate action against the individuals involved.”

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en-gb"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I don&#39;t know if they were hacked or not, but I&#39;m still waiting on Buffalo Wild Wings to issue me an apology for this tweet about me. So far they have been pretty quiet. <a href="https://twitter.com/BWWings?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BWWings</a> <a href="https://t.co/TLLfMDLOTC">pic.twitter.com/TLLfMDLOTC</a></p>&mdash; Tariq Nasheed (@tariqnasheed) <a href="https://twitter.com/tariqnasheed/status/1002708096790159360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">2 June 2018</a></blockquote>

Last year, another fast food chain, Mc Donalds, also saw it’s Twitter feed hacked sending out various messages stating for example that US President Donald Trump had small hands and one that read: "You are a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have BarackObama back."
