A charter school in Chatsworth received a threat on Tuesday morning prompting a lockdown.
Chatsworth Charter High School received a phone threat around 10:15 a.m. The person who made the call said they were going to “shoot up the school.”
School police, as well as Los Angeles Police Department officers, quickly responded to the school located at 10027 Lurline Avenue. The school then was placed on lockdown.
LAPD took to Twitter to announce: “There is no report of shots fired or an active shooter incident at Chatsworth High School. There is a report of a threat, but nothing credible. We are currently investigating and ask public to avoid the area.”

It is not clear yet if the threat was real or a hoax. The FBI has warned recently that they will not take hoax threats lightly whether in Kentucky or anywhere in the country, reminding everyone that it is not a joke and making such hoax threats is a federal crime.
