Tennessee – Festivalgoer Found Dead at Bonnaroo

Authorities have confirmed that a festivalgoer was discovered dead at Bonnaroo in Tennessee on Friday.

A spokesman for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office said that the man’s body was found in the music festival’s camping section at about 10 a.m. local time. The cause of the festivalgoer’s death is still unknown, although at this point foul play is not suspected to have been a factor.

The authorities have yet to release the man’s identity pending an investigation into his death.

The festival started on Thursday and is to run for four days in Manchester, Tennessee.

The Sheriff’s Office spokesman also confirmed that around two dozen people needed some form of medical attention so far during the festival, much of it attributed to the terrible heat. The temperature in Manchester could reach the mid-90s today.

Big names are scheduled to perform at the festival over the long weekend including Eminem, The Killers, Future and Paramore.

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual four-day music festival that started in 2002. It is being held at what is now known as Great Stage Park on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. Main attractions of the festival are the live music with a diverse array of musical styles including classic rock, hip hop, jazz, country music, reggae, pop, indie rock, alternative music, among others.
