Texas - 55 Illegal Aliens Detained by Authorities in Human Smuggling Bust

There's disturbing news coming out of Texas today where authorities are reporting on the apprehension of at least fifty-five illegal aliens in part of a major smuggling operation that was shut down.

San Antonio authorities say that they pulled over a semi-truck near an alleyway adjacent to Laurelhurst Drive inside of Loop 410 along Interstate-410 in San Antonio, Texas near a North Side neighborhood when the driver began to act suspiciously.

This prompted law enforcement to ask to search the tractor-trailer, and to their shock, they discovered a whopping 55 illegal aliens crammed inside the cargo area, ranging from the ages of young children to grown men and women.

Despite the tragic occurrence of a smuggling operation in early 2017 where nearly a dozen illegal aliens were found deceased in the back of a tractor-trailer, all of whom died of either heat-exhaustion or asphyxiation; this method of transport is being used on a near-daily basis to allow federal criminals to violate current immigration laws in being smuggled into the United States of America.

This situation would prove different, albeit still increasingly dangerous for those inside, as the trailer itself was an air-conditioned unit and had massive resources of water aboard.

Upon discovery, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency were brought to the scene to first perform a medical evaluation of all who were discovered and later brought the San Antonio Fire Department to the scene to both check the vitals and feed the hungry passengers.

As of this time, the ICE Homeland Security Investigations unit is investigating the origins of each of the illegal aliens who were then taken into federal custody, to determine if any are wanted fugitives with either outstanding warrants or prior criminal convictions.

More often than not, groups of illegal aliens caught during human smuggling operations are found to either be wanted for prosecutions inside the United States of America, have narcotics or illicit firearms in their possession, or have been previously deported, making them potentially open to facing a felony charge of illegal reentry.

As of this time, no personal information about those aboard has been released outside of law enforcement saying that the male driver was arrested, and the remaining illegal aliens were all placed in a federal holding facility pending the outcome of the investigation.

"This was a totally different situation from the last time we had this," SAFD Chief Charles Hood said, referring to the cases where illegals often suffocate or die in similar situations. "This is not like last time when we had a bunch of body bags. There are agents at the hospitals talking with people. We are compassionate and providing good care. Each person has been medically screened."

The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) sent a legal representative to provide the right to legal counsel to the illegal aliens, albeit they're no doubt going to face deportation if they're not wanted on additional criminal charges.

"We help people seek asylum," said Jenny Hixon, RAICES Director of Education and Outreach. "We need to be humanitarian. We need to do something that is consistent with our values. We must show dignity and respect. We don’t know where they are going. There are lots of detention centers around South Texas."

These organizations fail to advocate for the taxpayers who succumb to being responsible for the debt and costs of both the feeding, detainment and also the inevitable housing of the illegal aliens awaiting deportation, as well as their legal representations.

There's also an enormous cost to the local police and fire departments in even having to shut down traffic and dispatch emergency services to the scene, who would otherwise be focused on serving American citizens.

A local semi-truck driver, who is clearly suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” says that President Trump is at fault for this, in what's clearly the result of liberal indoctrination efforts.

While his comments are ignorant, Armando Colung is a Hispanic semi-truck driver from the East Side of San Antonio, who says he felt “obligated” to assist those in need, and that he ordered pizza for the illegal aliens, according to local CBS Affiliate Channel 5 KENS.

Colung continues in his rant to say that anyone who wants to send these federal criminal illegal aliens back to Mexico is somehow racist, despite the fact that these were all criminals who came to the United States of America illegally.

Many of those aboard were also treated for minor wounds by emergency medical services, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

At least five of those illegal aliens suffered from more serious injuries and were sent to a nearby hospital, only again costing innocent taxpayers to cost the cost of their crimes.

The continued danger and threat of federal criminal illegal aliens being posed to the American people will not end until we have a border wall in place between the United States and Mexico; and active upgrades to x-ray and screen every vehicle which crosses into the nation from our southern neighbor.

There is a process to enter the United States of America, and if you follow the proper legal channels to do so; you're more than welcome to immigrate into the United States of America.

Despite the arguments of the San Antonio truck driver, the reality is that close to 90% of all criminal aliens detained by ICE have prior criminal histories, for charges ranging anywhere from child molestation, child abduction, narcotics trafficking, arms trafficking, rape, felonious assault, burglary, or homicides.

With incidences such as today's human smuggling effort, there are oftentimes dangerous criminals packed into the trailers along with a handful of young children, making the media turn to the sympathy card to ignore the threat to society if they're apprehended.

At The Goldwater, we report the facts, and we support law and order. These people did not come into our nation legally. They have to go back.

It's your civic duty to report suspicious activities to law enforcement, and in occurrences such we today, you could save the life of someone aboard the vehicle.

Members of the public who have information about foreign fugitives are urged to contact ICE by calling the ICE tip line at 1-866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199.

They can also submit a tip over the internet by completing ICE’s online form by clicking here.

You can also express your frustrations with the lack of funding a border wall to your elected officials. Pick up the phone, or go online and remind them that you voted to build the border wall which President Trump has proposed. All they have to do is fund it.

Click here to find your elected officials in the United States Senate.

Another enormous thank you goes out to the men and women of the San Antonio and surrounding law enforcement and emergency response agencies which assisted in today's arrests. Thank you.

Sucks cause at the end of the day they are still on US soil and will probably remain here indefinitely. The truck should have been escorted back to the border with all occupants including the driver.
