Nevada – Brothel Owner Dennis Hof Wins GOP Primary

Dennis Hof, the owner of half a dozen legal brothels in Nevada, won the Republican primary for the state Legislature on Tuesday, ousting in the process a three-term lawmaker.

The star of the HBO adult reality series “Cathouse” defeated hospital executive James Oscarson. That sets the stage for Hof’s facing Democrat Lesia Romanov in November. He will also be the favored candidate in the Republican-leaning Assembly district.

Hof attributes his victory to President Donald Trump. He told the Associated Press: “It’s all because Donald Trump was the Christopher Columbus for me. He found the way and I jumped on it.”’

Hof celebrated his sweet triumph at a party in Pahrump, with Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss at his side.

Hof also became known for writing the book “The Art of the Pimp.” He has also proclaimed himself “The Trump of Pahrump.” Longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone joined him in a rally.

The news of Hof’s victory was received with mixed reactions on social media.

Interestingly, voters in November will also be deciding on closing down brothels at least one in the seven Nevada counties where they are currently legally operating. The question of whether brothels should remain to operate or not will be on the ballot in Lyon County, where Hof happens to own four brothels.

Activists are trying to do the same in Nye County by gathering signatures. Hof owns two more brothels in the desert outside Pahrump.

Hof argued that the anti-brothel efforts are nothing but political retribution that’s connected to his opponent. Oscarson denied such suggestion.

Should Hof win in November, he will not be the only brothel owner to hold an elected office as Lance Gilman, the owner of the popular Mustang Ranch in Northern Nevada sits as a Storey County commissioner.

Hof also announced on Tuesday that he plans to focus more on politics and will be downsizing his business by selling off some brothels.

Most brothels are operating in rural areas of Nevada, as they banned in counties that contain Las Vegas and Reno.
