Although technically Mr. Giuseppe Conte is the Prime Minister of Italy, after two weeks of populist governance everyone has understood that Interior Minister Matteo Salvini holds the true scepter of power in Rome.
After French President Emmanuel Macron scolded him yesterday, calling him ‘cynical and irresponsible’ over his handling of the migrant ship Aquarius carrying 629 African immigrants which Italy refused entry to its Sicily ports earlier this week, Mr. Salvini reacted furiously.

At first, he summoned the French ambassador in Rome to come for explanations and later, stunningly, forbid his own Prime Minister Conte to meet with his French counterpart until Paris offered a formal apology.
Mr. Salvini stated: We have nothing to learn from anyone in terms of solidarity. Our history does not deserve to be reproached in these terms by members of the French government, who I hope apologize."

"Macron should go from words to deeds and tomorrow morning receive the 9,000 migrants he committed to receiving. France has taken only 340 of the 9,816 migrants who were meant to be relocated there in three years.”
"France says that we are cynical but between January 1 and May 31 it turned back 10,249 people at the border, including women and disabled children."

The French press, which was quick to pick up on Mr. Salvini’s words, afterward confirmed the numbers of migrants entering France which were stated by Italy, in a shameful defeat for the Parisian Elysée Palace.
Mr. Salvini continued to address Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is now seen as the hero of the story for offering port to the Aquarius. "I thank Spain and Premier Sanchez from the heart."
"I hope that he continues to exercise his generosity in the coming weeks, having space to do so."
According to the Italian interior ministry, Italy receives around 170,000 migrants, compared to 16,000 for Spain.
In a newly published poll in Le Republicca, some 80% of Italians stated this week that Mr. Salvini was right to refuse the boat to dock.

This relocating of populations with opposite cultures will only end in destruction of western civilization or like we are seeing in real time where no one wants them.
