The goal that Mexico's Hirving Lozano scored yesterday in the 35th minute against World Champion Germany was met with such enthusiastic celebrations in the capital Mexico City that the Network of Seismic Monitoring, Analysis and Geological Investigation (SIMMSA) wrote on Twitter that it had recorded an artificial earthquake.
It added that the mini-quake was possibly caused by “massive jumps” throughout the city in celebration.

Mexico held on to win against Germany and thus create the first upsetting result of this World Cup tournament.
The result comes as many of the favorites for the end win were held at draws or lost like Germany.

Argentina was held to a 1-1 draw against Iceland on Saturday, Spain played a fabulous 3-3 against Portugal and yesterday evening Brazil was unable to beat Switzerland, when that match also ended 1-1.

Those results all mean that the favorites are now obliged to all win their remaining groups matches in order to progress through to the knock-out stages.
