Mass Shooting in Annapolis, Maryland at Capital Gazette Newspapers Leaves Many Questions

There's breaking news surrounding a mass shooting in Anne Arundel County, Maryland where multiple people have been shot at the Capital Gazette Newspapers facility on 2000 Capital Drive in Annapolis.

Social media reports that there are at least four confirmed deaths and multiple injuries after the shooter opened fire on the Capital Gazette Newspaper building, and that there is no known motive as of this time for the horrific series of events.

Multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are responding to the scene alongside emergency medical responders and countless news media outlets.

We know that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are also on the ground, and were close to the time of the shooting.

We also know that the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, was briefed on the events aboard Air Force One, according to Fox News.

Law enforcement agencies are now scouring the grounds of the premises of the newspaper building and surrounding areas looking for explosives after a K9 Officer was able to apprehend the shooter and take him into custody.

Phil Davis, a Gazette News Crime Reporter, was present at the time of the shooting and said that numerous people were shot.

“Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad,” Davis said. “There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”

There is no word as to the identity of the gunman, or if he may have relation to the company or any of their employees, as often occurs in these “workplace crimes,” where a terminated or vindictive employee opens fire on their former place of work.

We will update this story with any additional information as we learn more about the suspect or the total injuries and deaths which occurred at the scene of this terrifying crime.
