The statement issued to local news reporters says that agents located a seven-year-old boy who was sold by his 29-year-old mother, Esmeralda Garza. Jail records show that the boy was purchased by two other other men. Investigators discovered that Garza was in the process of selling her other two children.
Garza's other two children who she was in the process of selling are a two-year-old girl and a three-year-old girl. Garza was jailed on charges of the sale or purchase of a child. The charge is a third-degree felony and carries at least a year in jail. She was booked into Nueces County Jail.
