Haiti – Protests, Riots And Looting While Hurricane Is On The Way (Video)

The Haitian government, in order to comply with the conditions of an IMF loan to the country, had waited for weeks to find a correct moment to inform the population. The favourite football team of the Haitians is Brazil. So just before they would play in the quarter-final against Belgium, the government announced a 40% price hike for fuel and gasoline (in detail it is 38% for gasoline, 47% for diesel and 51% for kerosene).

The loss for Brazil probably didn’t help as Haitians started looting and rioting right afterwards.

The framework agreement signed between the IMF and Haiti called for an end to subsidies to petroleum products (which are considered to be a leak in the budget deficit of one of the poorest nations in the Americas).

The IMF agreement furthermore demanding increased spending on social services, less government corruption, increased spending on infrastructure projects and, lastly, improved tax collection. All measures necessary to modernize the economy said the Ms Christine Lagarde led organisation.

Mr Jude Alix Patrick Salomon, Haiti's Minister of Economy and Finance, declared that "each day it's a subsidy of 5,000-6,000 barrels that we finance for the other side of the border, which is a heavy burden for our economy."

Today gunshots sounded in the impoverished capital and roadblocks went up in protest while many shops were looted.

Haitians are sub-human THINGS. Obama/Bush imported about a million of these creatures to The USA. I have caught them stealing from me. If i were in-charge, they'd all be enslaved and sterilized.
