A village in Greenland is worried that a tsunami could destroy the town if a giant iceberg were to split in two that is floating near the settlement. The giant iceberg sparked worry as it ominously floated toward a promontory in the village of Innaarsuit. The iceberg has since grounded and has not moved since, according to state broadcaster KNR.

An area around the giant iceberg has been identified as a danger zone and has been evacuated. Residents have been forced to move further up a steep slope where the settlement lies, according to Greenland police. Susanna Eliassen, a member of the village council in Innaarsuit told local news KNR, "We can feel the concern among the residents. We are used to big icebergs, but we haven’t seen such a big one before."
Government search and rescue helicopters and police are on high alert and ready to spring into action if called to the remote village. Giant Icebergs may not seem like a threat if you are on land but last summer four people were killed after waves swamped a settlement in Northwestern Greenland.
